Massage Policies

Client Informed Consent

The massage that you receive from our therapists are for the purposes of stress reduction and relief from muscular tension or spasm.  The massage therapist does not diagnose illness, disease, or any further physical or mental disorders.  As such, the massage therapist does not prescribe medical treatment or pharmaceuticals, nor do they perform spinal manipulations.  Nor does Essential Comfort or any of it therapists claim that massage is a substitute for medical treatment or diagnoses and that it is recommended that you see a physician for any physical ailments that you may have.

IMPORTANT!

It is your responsibility (as the client) to inform the massage therapist of any current and/or previous medical conditions you may have (i.e. medications you are taking, major accidents or surgeries, physical/mental/emotional disorders, and general illness) to the best of your knowledge.  Nondisclosure of important health information can result in personal injury to yourself or the massage therapists.

Please also inform the massage therapists if you experience any unusual discomfort and/or pain during your massage sessions, so that they can adjust the pressure or technique being used.

Privacy Policy

All written records and massage sessions are kept strictly confidential and will not be shared with any outside establishment, persons, organizations, or medical facilities without explicit written consent from the client (you) or the client's legal guardian.  Unless legally required by local, state, or federal law, subpoena, summons, or other court order.

Appropriate Behavior Policy

Massage services provided by massage therapists affiliated with Essential Comfort Therapeutic Massage are solely for the purpose of therapeutic muscle relaxation.  It is inappropriate to solicit or request contact or conduct of a sexual nature from the massage therapist at any time.  This kind of behavior is not tolerated and will result in the immediate cessation of the massage session.

During the massage session the client will be discreetly draped with a sheet, blanket or towel to respect modesty and maintain professionalism.
